Fossil Dig - Saturday, Dec 3

The Pack will be going on a fossil dig at the Vulcan Mines on Dec 15. Exact meeting time is TBD. Our meeting place will the Coastal Gas station at 15487 Citrus Way, Hernando County, FL 34613. (Google Maps link)

Directions:

Take I-75 north to Exit 301 and turn left onto US 50 (Cortez Blvd).

Travel west towards Brooksville.

Turn north on to US 98 (Ponce de Leon Blvd).

Travel north about 10 miles to SR 491 (Citrus Way Road).

The Coastal Gas Station is on the corner of US 98 and SR 491.

What Do I Bring to the Fossil Dig?

• Closed Toed Shoes
• Long Pants
• Long Sleeve Shirt
• Baseball Cap
• Plastic or Ziploc bags
• Insect Repellent
• Moist Wipes
• Plenty Frozen Beverages
• Lunch
• Back Pack
• Digging Tools (shovels, trowels, etc.)
• An Old Toothbrush

Please Note:

• There are limited facilities at the Coastal Gas Station, therefore we strongly advise you to use the restroom prior to arriving at the meeting point.
• There is a lot of walking on this outing. Therefore, we encourage you to get plenty of rest the day before the trip.
